Subject:Authorize the City Manager to Enter into an Agreement to Renew Contract with Cintas Corp. for Uniform Services
Meeting Date:Thursday, July 16, 2026
From:Sean Brewer, City Manager
Prepared by:Jesse Barron, Assistant City Manager

I.    RECOMMENDATION:

Authorize the City Manager to Enter into an Agreement to Renew Contract with Cintas Corp. for Uniform Services.

II.    BACKGROUND:

The City of Coalinga entered into an agreement with Cintas Corp. to provide uniform services for the Public Works and Utilities employees in 2022. Since that time the city has incorporated entry mats, sanitary supplies and shirts for the Building Inspector.

III.   DISCUSSION:

A representative from Cintas Corp. has provided a contract for renewal and updated costs that are considerably lower than what we are currently paying.

Cintas has a Cooperative Agreement through OMNIA where public agencies such as cities, counties, municipalities, townships, state/ state agencies, and educational institutions benefit of strong purchasing power allowing for decrease costs and price protection. Cintas is partnered with OMNIA which allows special discounted pricing for governmental and educational agencies that have an impact in the community.

IV.   ALTERNATIVES:

Approve renewal of contract with Cintas (Recommended)

Instruct staff to explore other uniform company options. (Not Recommended)

V.    FISCAL IMPACT:

The proposed contract is $355 a week spread out over the various enterprise funds that Public Works oversees. By renewing with Cintas we will be saving over $200 a week in uniform costs. The only fiscal impact will be for the Building Inspector, entry mats and sanitary supplies.
