I.    RECOMMENDATION:

City Manager and Senior Administrative Analyst recommend the Coalinga City Council award a contract in the amount of $53,197.51 to CORE BUSINESS INTERIORS for the Flooring Project at City Hall to include the Council Chambers and furniture moving.  



II.    BACKGROUND:

It has been over twenty years since the flooring at City Hall has been replaced. Over time the carpet has become faded, worn and stained. As part of the one-time FY 2025-2026 projects replacing the existing flooring and carpet at City Hall was approved.



III.   DISCUSSION:

Staff recommends adding the replacement of carpet in the Council Chambers and the moving of furniture to the flooring project. This quote was provided after the agenda was posted. The flooring project will be completed in phases, it does not allow for Public Works to efficiently move furniture. 



IV.   ALTERNATIVES:

1. Award flooring project with Council Chambers and furniture moving. 

 

2. Award flooring project with Council Chambers center carpet replacement only and furniture moving.

 

3. Award the project with furniture moving only. 



V.    FISCAL IMPACT:

The authorization request for the contract amount of $53,197.51 with an additional 10% contingency of $5,319.75 for a total of $58, 517.26 . This project is budgeted as a one-time project to 101-432-84030. Upon approval staff will return with a budget adjustment for the one time project.
