I.    RECOMMENDATION:

Council Authorization for the City Manager to execute Task Order for Design Engineering Services for the City of Coalinga Resurfacing Phase 3 Project.

II.    BACKGROUND:

In November 2025 the City of Coalinga decided to move forward with phase 3 of the resurfacing project, an Annual Pavement Maintenance Project. The City budgets annually for chip, slurry and cape seal projects. Over the course of the last eight (8) months public works crews have been working tirelessly crack sealing several streets throughout the City. Additional treatments such as chip and cape seals require more sophisticated equipment and time, therefore, the need to bid out the work. 

III.   DISCUSSION:

Attached is the work order for Design Engineering from the City Engineer for the design support of Resurfacing Phase 3 Project, a total of $51,000.00. Once approved by the City Council, the City Engineer will begin immediately on design in order to proceed with this project expeditiously.  

IV.   ALTERNATIVES:

None

V.    FISCAL IMPACT:

This project is fully funded from TDA Street Maintenance Funds and will have no impact on the General Fund.
