| | | | | | | | I. RECOMMENDATION:
Council Authorization for the City Manager to execute Task Order for Design Engineering Services for the Coalinga Multi-Trail Segment 7, 8, 9c of the Coalinga Multi-Trail System Funded by the Active Transportation Program.
II. BACKGROUND:
In November 2025 the City of Coalinga received a grant award notification through the Active Transportation Program (ATP) grant program in the amount of $83,862.00 to design Segment 7, 8, 9c of the Multi-Use Trail System. Proposed Trail Segment 7 is located on an existing soil path running north to south along the berm of Warthan Creek, approximately 0.76 mi, from W Polk Ave to the proposed roundabout SW. Proposed Trail Segment 8 is located on an existing soil path running north to south for approximately 0.09 along the berm of Warthan Creek and east to west for approximately 0.43 miles from proposed roundabout SW to Pacific and Forest intersection. Proposed Trail Segment 9C is located on an undeveloped area running north to south for approximately 0.06 along Elm Ave from existing Trail 9 to Warthan Apartments trail.
III. DISCUSSION:
Attached is the work order for Design Engineering from the City Engineer for the design support of Segment 7, 8, 9c of the Trail Plan. Once approved by the City Council, the City Engineer will begin immediately on surveying and design in order to proceed with this project expeditiously.
IV. ALTERNATIVES:
None
V. FISCAL IMPACT:
The design engineering and construction engineering/management costs are reimbursable under the corresponding grant and shall not have an impact on the general fund. The local 11.47% match will be derived from the various street funds (Measure C, TDA, SB1). | | |
