I. RECOMMENDATION:
There is no staff recommendation. This item was requested as a future agenda item by Councilman Horn and is informational only.
II. BACKGROUND:
There are 7 active cannabis license holders in Coalinga that pay cannabis taxes.
III. DISCUSSION:
Of the 7 license holders, 3 are current on taxes and 4 are past due; 2 are past due since April 1, 2022, and 2 are past due since July 1, 2022.
The past due amount owed for FY 22 is $183,185.75.
The past due amount owed for FY 23, to date, is at least $214,385.75. One of the past due license holders is based on gross receipts rather than square footage so the City cannot calculate that amount owed at this time.
