I. RECOMMENDATION:
Direct Staff to fully investigate the feasibility of each bench installation locations.
II. BACKGROUND:
During previous meetings, council has asked staff to provide a location list for benches to be located around the City of Coalinga.
III. DISCUSSION:
Attached is a map of locations that staff has previously identified as probable locations for bench installations as a part of an ARPA or General Fund project. It is the intention to provide bench locations along main walking thoroughfares. Many of the locations are within City right of way and are easily accomplished. However, some are comingled with other projects, and some are potentially not located within our right of way requiring additional time and funding to secure the appropriate right-of-way.
The locations indicated with blue markers are easily accomplished, and the red locations require further analysis. Staff is seeking further direction from council to fully investigate the feasibility of the indicated locations. Furthermore, staff is seeking direction to investigate the full cost of each location combined with consideration for any modifications that would be required for each location. That information will then be brought to Council for consideration.
