I. RECOMMENDATION:
This was a future agenda item requested by Councilman Adkisson to get costs to pave the park strips along Sunset between Washington and Polk Street. This is informational only.
II. BACKGROUND:
Councilman Adkisson was concerned about the weeds in the park strips along sunset and wanted to get a cost to either pave the park strips or add rock to alleviate the occurrence of weeds.
III. DISCUSSION:
The City Engineer estimates that the cost to furnish and install concrete in the park strips along Sunset would be approximately $56,820.00. A copy of the engineers estimate is attached.
An additional request was made related to adding rock instead of concrete. The City Engineers estimate for 3/4 inch decorative rock with weed block fabric was $22,510.20, but this is not recommended as it will not fully ensure weed growth.
