Meeting Date:March 18, 2021
From:Marissa Trejo, City Manager

I.    RECOMMENDATION:

There is no staff recommendation. This was requested as a Future Agenda Item by Mayor Ramsey.

II.    BACKGROUND:

This item is informational only.

III.   DISCUSSION:

The City Airport recently completed installing damaged and missing runway and taxiway lights. The restrooms and pilots' lounge have been stocked with supplies for daily use.

The City is currently in the process of working on these items and anticipates completion in the next two months.

PAPI box located at the end of the main runway has been installed. An electrician will power the lighting in the next few weeks. The REIL lighting will have troubleshooting done at the same time.

The rental of a boom lift will allow for the repair of the rotating beacon and installation of LED general lighting.

The City is in the process of working on these items as long range projects. A request for qualifications is being developed for an Airport Consultant for release in June/July. Once a consultant is selected they will work with the City  to complete these future long range projects listed below. Grant funding will be sought from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Cal-Trans Division of Aeronautics.

Replacement of the Automated Weather Observing System (AWOS).

Rehabilitation of Runway 12/30 taxiways and apron.

Rehabilitation/Crack Sealing Runway 1/19

Staff is exploring financing options from either World Fuels or Phillips 66 to replace the  automated fuel station which has reached its service life. Being at its service life has made it difficult to locate parts or a technical who may repair the current station.

IV.   ALTERNATIVES:
