Prepared by:Marissa Trejo, City Manager

I.    RECOMMENDATION:

This item was requested as a Future Agenda Item by Councilman Adkisson.

City Manager's recommendation is detailed in the Discussion portion of the staff report.

II.    BACKGROUND:

Currently, public participation during Coalinga City Council meetings is done via Zoom.

III.   DISCUSSION:

The staff recommendation is to allow public in-person attendance at City Council meetings beginning the first meeting in April 2021.

The number of public in-person attendance would vary for each meeting depending on the number of staff and presenters attending the Council meeting.

Staff would unlock the Council Chamber doors at 5:30pm on Council meeting dates.  In-person attendance would be on a first come, first served basis.

Staff would note the number of public in-person attendees permitted via a sign on the Council Chamber doors.  Once the number of seats are filled, additional members would need to participate via Zoom rather than in-person.

IV.   ALTERNATIVES:

To be discussed during item.

V.    FISCAL IMPACT:

None.
