I.    RECOMMENDATION:

There is no staff recommendation.  This item was requested as a Future Agenda Item by Councilman Adkisson.

 

 



II.    BACKGROUND:

The State of California previously declared a State of Emergency and ordered businesses it deemed non-essential to close.  Examples of those businesses include, but are not limited to, salons, barbershops, movie theaters, gyms, and retail stores that sold non-essential items.

III.   DISCUSSION:

Councilman Adkisson is requesting that businesses that were deemed non-essential by the State reopen, at their discretion, without interference from the City with adequate safety guidelines in place as established by the City's Safety Officer, the Fire Chief.

IV.   ALTERNATIVES:

Take no action on item



V.    FISCAL IMPACT:

The fiscal impact is unknown but would likely result in a positive fiscal impact to the City's General Fund.
