Subject:Authorize the Police Department to Upgrade Flooring in Dispatch

I.    RECOMMENDATION:

This is a future agenda item requested by Councilmen Adkisson.

II.    BACKGROUND:

On October 15, 2019, the request to replace the dispatch flooring was brought before the council along with the request to upgrade the department's access control system.  During the meeting the council approved the replacement of the access control system but denied the replacement of the police department's dispatch flooring, pending the mid-year budget report. 



III.   DISCUSSION:

Councilman Adkisson requested the police department to place this item on the agenda and request councils approval to replace the flooring in the police department's dispatch center. 

 

I have obtained a quote for the material and installation of commercial grade wood flooring that can take the high traffic volume and rolling of the dispatch chairs from Cal Floors which is a local business.  The quote is approximately $5,528.00. and covers all materials and labor.



IV.   ALTERNATIVES:

Do not approve the request.



V.    FISCAL IMPACT:

Approximately $5,528 which will come from the General Fund, but there is sufficient funding in Account 101-401-98050 to cover the cost of the project.
