Review and Approve Resolution #3888 Designating Commercial Parking Areas in the City
II. BACKGROUND:
This is a continuation and implementation of the recently passed commercial parking ordinance.
III. DISCUSSION:
With the passage of the new commercial parking ordinance, the Council has the option of designating areas within the city to be suitable for commercial parking. Staff has looked at the issue and have determined that there is no areas that are 100% suitable for commercial parking inside the City Limits. To allow the Council to find a more permanent solution to the issue, staff has located 2 temporary locations that can serve as a parking area for commercial trucks. Due to the weight and damage that will occur at these locations, staff recommends that these areas serve for a period of no more than one year.
IV. ALTERNATIVES:
Reject the resolution and have staff look for other alternatives.
